FREEDOM OF RELIGION, SPEECH, PRESS, ASSEMBLY AND PETITION
passed by Congress September 25, 1789, ratified (confirmed) December 15, 1791
Speak your mind or write it down. Go to a sit in, paint, take a picture, create a film, advertise, your opinion. I have the right to say, you have the right to criticize what I say.
But sometimes, the government MAY limit what we do, if we slander someone, or someones business, curse like a mother…..well you get the idea, the government doesn’t like words that contribute to inciting violence.
Free speech is far from free. The highest price someone has to pay is with their lifes. There is an enormous responsibility to free speech, we must not let our anger or emotions allow us to say things that may cause a dangerous outcome. We have to be adult like, understanding that there are people out there that can’t refrain themselves from doing something like murder. Every day we walk amongst people who should not be encouraged. But we live with them and they appear normal, well don’t be fooled.
“What do we want? Dead cops!”, “When do we want them? Now!” well for blogging out loud)) these words caused the death of two Police officers, Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos. So the assassin decided that his free speech should be tweeted “I’m putting Wings on Pigs today. #ShootThePolice, after killing our Policeman Heroes, he killed himself, the ONLY thing he did right.
Now you would think that our public officials like, NYC’s Mayor Bill DeBlasio, who put his foot in his mouth by saying to his mixed-race son Dante: “be careful around police officers”, would know better. Just the thing to calm everyone down Bill, good job. *See Hate needs a mirror…
“Burn this Motherf**cker down” “Burn this bitch down” words of wisdom from Michael Browns stepfather as opposed to his paternal father “destroying property is not the answer. However the family later said “We respectfully ask that you please keep your protests peaceful. Answering violence with violence is not the appropriate reaction. Let’s not just make noise, let’s make a difference.”
Ferguson home values have gone down by 50% or more. Approximately 25 business’ were burned down. Around a $4.6 million dollar hit to Ferguson. There is no free speech.
We jump on the bandwagon for the underdog, however it is the uninformed, who thinks this is their radical hippie movement they will mimic so they can be cool too. Its scary how many people don’t know what they are marching for or the truth of the incident. So when you are getting ready for the next cool cause remember Free Speech can cost lifes, hopefully not yours.))
