Fourth of July, is a federal holiday to commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on 4 July 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.
The Statue of Liberty symbolizes America’s independence and the freedom the country offers to all that enter. The United States in 1886 was given to us by France (it shipped in 214 crates and assembled on Liberty Island in the New York Harbor.)
The original thirteen states came together on 1776 and separated from England with the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4.
So, in 1776, the United States of America was born.
Since 1941, the Fourth of July has been an official paid holiday for government officials.
Unfortunately this July 4th 2015 brings much concern for terrorist activities. The FBI and Dept of Homeland Security along with the National Counterterrorism Center are watching, listening and tracking ISIS and any other maniac we have in the US and Abroad.
The people in New England wanted their freedom from the brits and it began in 1775. On July 2, 1776, the Congress had a secret vote for independence from Great Britain. Two days later The Declaration of Independence was first published on July 4, 1776. People first heard the reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 8, 1776. Delegates signed the Declaration of Independence on August 2, 1776. In 1870, federal employees had off but didn’t get paid.
John Adams described to his wife Abigail on July 3, 1776 what Independence Day would be like. He said there would be “pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations” throughout the United States.
These idiots will be burning our flag July 1, 2015 in Fort Greene Park at Myrtle and Washington Street.
For blogging out loud)) it looks like we are still fighting for our country.))
