So this is the start of an idea for a post, some start this way, ideas thrown around the page as easily as you could toss Greg Gutfeld.
I was inspired by Fox news and the way they dish out the news. I don’t like other news channels, other than for reference and a comparison. I do see them though because my wife wants lighter fare, she doesn’t want to see anymore beheadings, and other depressing stuff, like politics. And she’s right to a certain point. Its nice to make believe that our world is how the other channels portray it. You know, that we have the best President ever. One who is never wrong, who has it all under control. So don’t worry little munchkins we are in good hands.
I found out that Greg Gutfeld was leaving RedEye for a Bigger (sorry its hard not to), show on FOX “The Greg Gutfeld Show” on Saturday/Sunday night at 10pm.
So little Greg who’s Mother would be proud, has all grown up. You know mothers who look up to their son and get the sun in their eyes, this is where that twinkle in their eye comes from. Luckily for Greg his Mother was shorter than he is.
So I would just miss RedEye, because my insomnia would usually wake me just before 4am. But I would catch that little morsel and it looked funny. The stuff I would watch made me question, did I fall back asleep and was having a weird dream, or is this the show?
Greg is a little less complicated than a Dennis Miller who’s words escape me, unfortunately I am not as educated as I would like. I’m the guy who watches Jeopardy with my mouth dropped to the floor and wonder why was I not given a grownup size plate of brains. Greg I kinda understand, I believe that Greg is speaking to the little guy the average person.
Greg could have been the little brother I never had. The one I could have given noogies to. No wonder he warmed up so well to his TV sister Dana Perino on The Five. For reference Greg is the small fork in the drawer at 5’ 5”, Dana is the olive fork at 5’ 2”. Andrea Tantaros is a whopping 5’ 4” Kimberly Guilfoyle hides her 5’ 2” frame with 6” heels. Juan Williams at 5’ 7” is the average height of a man in the 1800’s , Eric Bolling is a towering 6’ 1”.
So as I think about the guy that really doesn’t have to bend over, and how many phone books he sits on, he reminds me of this little idea I had for this post. I was going to mix this in with some comment on our world’s problems, but Greg is bigger than that. He deserves his own post.
He mixes it up on The Five, and they don’t step on him too much. He looks eye to eye with O’Reilly, when he steps on a stool. He even hosts it occasionally. And now a new show. So it looks like Fox is an equal opportunity employer for small people.
So is it right that we make short jokes? (while I am playing Randy Newmans “short people”) Who knows it’s fun, sometimes it does seem mean, but its a fine line that we shouldn’t cross often. I don’t mind Greek jokes, Fat jokes, Hairy jokes, as long as they make us laugh. Something we really need in this world. For reference the average height around here is 5′ 8.5″
It’s ok to be the butt of a joke, and when it is given by friends, even better, because friends will watch you carefully as this is going on and know when to stop and give you a hug.
Ok, so this post is getting too Big, we must keep it’s size relative to the subject.
So here’s a hug Greg, and remember you have a reason to live.))
